WHY I LOVE INSKIN.CO FOR THE INDUSTRY

On June 25th 2024, I was invited to the launch of Inskin Cosmedics’ newest addition – Inskin.co. Alongside O Cosmedics and Ginger and Me, this is the third skincare range Maria Cocciolone, CEO of Inskin has birthed from idea to reality.

The launch and the strategic approach behind Inskin.co were as impressive as the product range itself. It was one of those rare occasions where every word resonated deeply, revealing a strategy that is both innovative and much needed in the professional skincare industry. (Others have tried but miserably failed!)

THE KEY POINTS AS QUOTED BY INSKIN:

  • Cosmedical
  • Masstige
  • Uses botanical actives in functional doses
  • Attainable
  • Created for the professional skincare industry

This outstanding range targets clients who are eager to care for their skin but may not be able afford advanced skincare products. It’s also perfect for teens and men starting a skincare regimen. Priced at $55 per product and packaged to appeal to just about anyone, this range is set to ADD sales for clinics and salons, NOT replace existing sales.

MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH INSKIN.CO

Maria generously gifted each attendee a skin kit at the launch. Mine included the Foaming Enzyme Cleanser, the Bakuchiol & B3 Serum (Maria loves her Niacinamide!), and the Liquid Hydrator.

Let’s start with the Foaming Enzyme Cleanser. Normally I would stay away from foaming cleansers due to their drying effects from a detergent-like ingredient, but this one, noooooo… none of that. Somehow the combination of ingredients (that don’t include detergent) in the easy pump bottle magically foam with zero drying effect. I know that sounds a little simple, but it’s true. I love it and it’s become my permanent morning shower cleanser.

Bakuchiol, a plant-based retinol alternative that stimulates collagen production and cellular turnover, as well as offering impressive antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits. While I haven't noticed significant changes on my face (thanks to my already robust skincare regimen), I’ve been conducting a little case study on my left hand. The results on my left hand compared to my right were significantly impressive – smoother, more even skin and softer to the touch. The serum isn’t sticky and under the moisturiser, it doesn’t at all interfere with make-up.

The Hydrator. Also amazing. First, the smell is divine and secondly, the texture is just right, and I’ve achieved a noticeable difference after just one month. I’m really excited about this one.

THE STRATEGY

If you know me at all, you’ll also know that the retail side of what clinics and salons offer is paramount. Treatments alone (with no, inferior or rubbish homecare) will do very little. Maybe in the immediate short term but certainly not in the medium or long-term. If a client after having a treatment or course of treatments is not going to home to a professional range of homecare products, morning at night, the results will not be maintained, and the therapist is essentially wasting the client’s money. This is what I know to be true.

• Homecare alone – Very good results
• Treatments along with homecare – Great and often even extraordinary results
• Treatments alone – waste of money and a therapist will lose the client eventually

I also believe and know to be true that a client will receive the best possible results with a range of skincare products and not with the odd product here or there. The more products a client uses on their skin, the better results and the sooner the results. My version of the core 5 products is a cleanser, morning serum, night serum, moisturiser and SPF. These are the first priority products that should be sold to new clients.

Inskin.co is a professional advanced cosmedical homecare range ONLY. No treatments and at $55 a product, getting the core 5 products on the skin should be a very easy sell. $220 for the first 4 products plus an SPF from another range (Inskinco.co doesn’t have an SPF, yet). The O Cosmedics Mineral Pro is only $54 so a decent core 5 range would still only cost $274! Unprecedented!MY

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CLINICS AND SALONS

  1. Current Clients - Don’t recommend or even mention Inskin.co to existing clients already on an advanced cosmedical or cosmeceutical range. You’re not doing yourself or your clients any favours. If they ask about it, let them know that they are already on the crème de la crème range for optimal fast results.
  2. Target Market - Your target market as I said, is strictly those clients who seriously want to look after their skin, but your existing range is out of their budget range. It’s also PERFECT for teenagers and men starting to use skin care. The textures and packaging will attract them to the range.
  3. Easy Sales - There is little excuse for not selling the core 5 products in the one visit, especially with the first 3 purchased in a kit (20% less). The full core 5 including the SPF would then only be $241. Good grief! Can it be made any easier for therapists?
  4. Budget-Conscious Clients - Any existing client who only purchases one product or two because of budget restraints, can be moved to Inskin.co. Remember, we want as many products on the skin at once for real results.
  5. Promotion – Start with targeting mothers of teens with a basic skin treatment and training session, redeemable on products. You can offer a basic skin treatment - cleanse, exfoliate, mask (Inskinco.co has a great sheet mask), 10min massage, serum and moisturise for the special price of $67, redeemable on products. The whole time, the therapist would be educating the teen on what to do, when and why. You can then move on to a male orientated promotion if you like.

CONCLUSION

Inskin.co is an excellent addition to any existing skincare range, filling a crucial gap for clinics and salons. It offers professional, advanced cosmedical homecare products at an accessible price, making it a valuable tool for achieving real, lasting results. I highly recommend considering adding this range to your existing offerings.

STOP PRESS!

I've just heard that one new stockist sold out her opening order (which incidentally is only $2,400, with payment plans!) before it even hit her shelves! The stockist ran a report that isolated clients that had visited the clinic in the last twelve months but hadn't purchased in the last 6. It spat out 1,000 clients who were then sent an EDM introducing INSKIN.CO before the stock arrived, resulting in a sell out.
